Light Boxes

I have just recently completed building myself a couple of light boxes and I am very pleased with the results. If anyone is interested in me building one for them, PM me and I can discuss price etc, one thing is for sure, they are going to be at least a third of the price of imported ones, and IMHO work just as well. The two attached images will give you some sort of idea of my construction. My method of construction allowes the light box to fit over the front of the telescope/dew shield, much like a cover so one does not need to balance it on the scope.
I use a 12v lighter type connector for the power, and each LED is rated at between 6000mcd and 12000mcd depending on the size of the box required.
If interested please feel free to ask any questions.

I just want to specify when someone wants an order, I need payment up front as I have been bitten in the past by dags disappearing after I have built their light box, never to be seen again leaving me holding the can as it were. As I have built well over 300 of these in the last 10 years, mostly for forum members, no one can complain of my integrity regarding payment and delivery.
I trust people will understand.

This new adhesive I am using cuts build time by around 70% it is brilliant, cures by putting UV light on it. I still have to use my conventional adhesive for some of the jobs, but what a helluva improvement. Also the UV stuff is not affected by moisture, so winter will not be an issue, I am chuffed.

Still making light boxes Peter - might be time I got two - one for a C9.25 (+5mm thick foam dew shield) and one for a Williams Optics 110mm FLT. If you are interested please drop me a line on what you need measurements wise with cost and expected delivery time frame.

Many thanks,

Matthew

I reckon I have built pretty close to 400 light boxes since I started around 12 years ago, I think only 1 has been returned faulty and that was because the owner left it turned on for a very long time and I am assuming it was around a couple of weeks at least. It dimmed the Leds and I replaced and sent it back to him just for freight, so these just work. AFAIK I am the only person building these on earth..that in itself is frightening, there used to be a mob in the USA, but I think they went bum up, they were the reason I decided to build my own. I got a quote for one for my TAK (in the USA) and it was an outrageous price from memory around $300 USD then there was freight, so all up it would have been around $350USD and that was close to 15 years ago. So I decided to make my own. Did quite a bit of research and finally designed my own version which has since changed a lot from the original, hopefully for the best.
Obviously I am a tad bored with this isolation stuff, so decided to give a brief history of my light box evolution.
