my humble Comet Lulin animation from Leyburn

Had to give Lulin a go. Toss of a coin. Do I guide on the stars and try to get the comet zooming past, or guide on the comet and let the stars whoosh by. I chose the latter. You'll see the comet dim towards the end. Dew started forming on the lens and that was pretty much the end of my night.

About 1.6MB animated gif. 20x3min shots.

Great animation Troy. Must have around the same time I was imaging it as I can recognise the star field it's passing about where I left off. I tried RGB with the DSI but not enough data and moving too fast.

Great anim mate. I like the guiding on the comet instead of the stars.

Awesome.

Baz.

Thanks guys. Can't see myself doing this too often in the future, unless there's some way of automatically generating the animation. I manually added the 20 images into different layers, played with the curves on each one, then saved as anim gif all within Gimp. Is that how you do it?

With Paint Shop Pro's Animation Shop you just drag and drop the images into the application.

Glad to see you have captured Lulin Troy,
There is nothing like having your own image of things like this.
The animation is nice and Lulin looks good in that star field.

Well done.
Regards
Trevor

The animation in PS is pretty much as you described for GIMP.

I hate to use a cliché, but, that is awesome.
