Hey guys there's probably a post similar to this somewhere anyway..
i just wanted to know what the Top Ten Celestial Objects in the southern hemisphere are and how can i find them, i know about orion but what else is there?
Even if some one could post a link with the easiest way to find them as-well
You could try Stellarium. I use Starry Night Pro, but Stellarium is completely free and is good too. I found a lot of objects with Starry Night and now I recognize them myself. Of course you must know which cardinal point you are facing.
glenc has done some great work in Observational and Visual Astronomy section. There are a lot of targets posted in the top 5/10 in each category that are worth observing.
The easiest way by far to find them is by using apps like Sky Safari. I have some good paper atlas's but don't use them anymore because the electric ones are just so much better.
