Thumbs up Rotatable Reclining Binocular Chair!

Problem

Now that I have heavy binoculars, and because I use them for extended times, I found the need for a chair suitable for laying back far enough to see Zenith and also be able to see 360 degrees around the sky!

It must also be portable enough to carry around and fit in the boot of a car.

And I need something rotatable for laying back watching the Meteor showers this Friday night!!! (you never know where the suckers are gonna shoot).

Solution

Step 1. Finally use those ridiculous roller bearings from the GS 12" dob (you knew not to throw them out).

Step 2: Get your two old signs made from 17mm MDF (craftwood) from the business you closed down, cut to shape, add dob bearings, bolt, glue, screw and paint.

PRESTO!

It's laid back, it's rotatable, and it's VERY comfortable!!!

Tomorrow I will be adding some channel for the chair legs to sit in so it doesn't slide off, and then if I get time before Friday I will try to add a Parallelogram mount for the Knockies

Pic 1: Old signs
Pic 2: Cut them to shape
Pic 3: Add three feet for uneven ground
Pic 4: Place your recliner on it (recliner $12 at Bunnings)

P.S. Whole job 'start to finish' in under 1 hour

That's funny Gary!

I was playing with names for this device earlier tonight and was coming up with dumb ones like: Dobinocular, Dobbychair, Spiral Knoculator, etc.

Whatever it gets called, it works!!!

P.S. I love your new Avatar!
