Where in Cairns?

Hi all I want to get an idea of where most IIS,ers will be and who is where so I can figure where to be to meet as many of my IIS friends as possible.

So I have started this poll to find the greatest gathering of us. I think that Jen and jjj should attract a good number.

Will land the 13th at 11:20am in Cairns then I'm driving around. Not sure where to go yet. Will depend on the weather.

You need a 'none of the above' option. I'll be a Adams Dam and some of my friends will be at Bustard Downs, 8km from Mt Carbine. If a cyclone or tropical low are throwing too much cloud onto the coast I'll go even further west - I've got the vehicle and the gear to do it and after driving 2,500km I'm not going to let a few hundred km of dirt road stop me. However they are predicting a late start to the wet and so I don't expect to use plan B.

I don't know where I'll be observing from..
If hotel room has a view to South-East, it will be from that window.
Otherwise, somewhere along highway between Palm Cove and Thala Beach.. depends on local conditions (crowd)

Yeah I realized that after I hit submit and I put staying instead of viewing. MY BAD

No idea yet but I've got overly expensive accommodation in the CBD and a hire car so all options are open. I'd like to view it with other Ice'ers however. My default viewing area would be Trinity beach I guess.

We won't know where we will be viewing, until the day before.
Odille and I will be scouting for a site a couple of days before hand.

You guys should PM your mobile #. More eyes on the ground and more likely to have somebody under clear skies on the day.

Humayun and I will be driving up from Sydney in the fully-kitted Landrover. We'll be camping at the best possible location within 4x4 reach. I was thinking of bringing the offroad camper, but I want to be able to go as far afield as possible without dragging it around. We'll be looking for location, not people. After the event though... we're in!
