Sydney, Randwick Girls' High School, Sat. 24th March
Hi all,
With the forecast looking so good, and a dark sky site not feasable for a few of us, the Oval at Randwick Girls' High School is being made available for this coming Saturday 24th of March from 7pm.
I'll be taking this last New Moon chance to lay down a couple of sketches to maybe enter into the sketching competition at SPSP next month. I'll be happy to help out anyone on how to sketch at the eyepiece.
Whether you've got a scope or bino's or just a pair of eyes, you'd be welcome to join us.
Entry to the School is via Barker Street on the same round-about that feeds into the Prince of Wales Hospital. From the gate it's follow the driveway down and follow the signs. You can drive your car onto the oval too.
As mentioned, the gates will open at 7pm, with packing up happening whenever everyone's had enough.
None of the fellows who help pull the Airfield sessions together could make it this March. For that reason it wasn't noted in this month as a dark sky site. We're hoping to be able to have a session next April for those who would be interested.
Last night saw a five photon junkies make the most of beautiful conditions. The atmosphere's beginning to dry out, and faint fuzzies were becoming easier to both see and make out detail in.
