Yep that is a cracker of a shot Jase. So at least we know of one person in the DSO category that got something. I wonder who else????
I know of another award in the wide field category for a comet shot but he does not want to be named. He is currently headed for the eclipse on a cruise. It is a lovely shot he submitted and I would be thrilled if he won the category.

Wow there are some really great DS and widefield shots. I know they are different categories but I feel somewhat inadequate with my winners compared to the work and effort gone into the DS shots. As you are all saying the winners must be awesome as there are some fantastic ones that didn't get up.
Those widefield shots of Peter Wards are fantasic and I'm sure I won't be getting anything other than an honorable mention, which is fine with me!

That's a tough act to follow Jase, that's for sure!! My only nomination was this. My Orion's Sword, Leo Triplet, NGC300 and a vertical crop of NGC 6559 didn't cut the mustard.

Well done to all who recieved an award or honorable mention, also well done to those who didnt as the standards have been clearly raised, it doesnt mean the images were not good, just there was another prefferred by the judges involved.
Having seen imags from all over the world Australian imagers are more than pulling their weight.
Only 350 or so days left till the 2011 Malins entries ..... the job is back on

yes.. well i am looking forward to a great time at parkes again.. really enjoyed the event last year.. what a buzz with thousands of people visiting the dish. was great to be a small part of a big celebration.
i'm lucky enough to have three images in different sections (but i didn't even submit any for deep sky) and some timelapse. i know one other person with a timelapse entry.. not for me to say but it won't surprise anyone who has seen his work here. judging by images (mine and others) that i know haven't made it, the standard is going to be very high!
seems as harsh to have to choose winners out of such amazing work as losing a wimbledon tennis match 70-68 in the fifth set!
