I thought your moonlit one was fantastic, H. Surprised you didn't get an award.

H I did not win either as I did not enter anything as I am unworthy. I am not really happy yet with what I am doing and most probably never will be.
Congratulations to those that did.

Hello and congratulations to all the winners... Some excellent photos there for sure.
Don't worry Humayan. Nothing for me either this year! Though I partly blame the climate gods!

Mike,
Peter's incredible Uluru 360-degree panorama deserved to win. That's one of the best images I've ever seen. : ) I'm not bitter at all; you can only do what you can and hope that what you present will capture the imagination of the judge. Will try harder next time. : )
Eddie, your recent multi-hour massive mosaics are nothing short of astounding. I'm assuming that you entered one of them? I'm surprised you didn't get anything. I wonder if Jase entered his Eta Carinae mosaic in...

Well there's another of the usual suspects out of the DSO area. This is growing intriguing by the hour. Big Sid did not get anything either from what he told me this morning. So who got the call up. Jase did you win something?

Yep I am too, 6188 is a certain standout Eddie. Not seen it at the awards before so it should have gained something. Well I know that stumped feeling. Whomever it is that won those areas, but have had some exemplary images.

Congrats to all the winners, they are all fantastic and worthy images.
I only found out about them on the day the entries closed DOH!
I'll have to keep an eye out next year and have a go.

Eddie, all three of those are stupendous. I remember your M20 from SG when you first released it. Jaw dropping.
Doug, I remember your Barnard's Loop. That is an exemplary image with unique framing which presents that oft-image area in a new light.
I am dying to see who, more importantly, what image, won the deep space category.

wow, so many DSLR shots, they are all stunning, congrats indeed to the winners .
Very supprised to not see Peters Keyhole get up, one of the best ive ever seen, and Eddie and Mike S missing is a shock too.
I didnt score either, not that I expected to, crayon art is an aquired taste (or no taste ).
Who got DSO is now a very interesting puzzle .

Yes, I agree with Peter, the Ara image is my pic from the three Eddie submitted.. beautifully done, I was expecting Eddie to get something?
Maybe Jase has scored a few?
Yes I reckon Phil would have bagged one or two ex if he submitted his Rho-Ophiuchus widefield! That`s one nice widefield!

Congrats to all.
I dropped a late mosaic bomb on the DMA's this year. All five entries were mosaics.

I did enter that one H - shown here...but it was not good enough.
Also, the small Sagittarius star cloud, shown here - but it was not good enough. Strange, that I was almost thinking of cheating with the Sagittarius image and entering it into the wide field category, alas I'm honest given it was taken with a telescope. I also entered MW9 shown here (tough target) and Orion's Belt shown here, both of which were also not good enough to make the cut.
Unfortunately, resolution restrictions apply for the comp which severely hinder the glory of mosaics. They need to be shown at much larger resolution to do them justice. The small Sagittarius star cloud and Eta mosaic reduced down to the 2000 pixel entry limit almost look like postage stamps showing absolutely no detail. Sure I could crop certain areas, but you'd lose the impact and we're talking massive images here. Upon reflection its no wonder they didn't have a chance - cant see the forest for the trees...

So my only DMA nomination of the bunch was the infamous Rho Ophiuchus Nebulae Complex mosaic shown here. So we'll see what happens on the day. I'll make the effort to head to the awards this year so will catch up with a few new faces and usual suspects I hope.
PS. Eddie - Whilst your work on the 16" RC at MRO are killer images and very worthy of recognition, don't you remember this thread?
Cheers
