I suppose I'm lucky as I get paid to listen to music sometimes.
Irwin Thomas tonight. Noice!

Good on you, Tony. I remember to this day how my obsession with Led Zeppelin began.
I have hordes of bootlegged Led Zeppelin concerts -- collected from when I was part of several online bootleg trading rings. I had to give the hobby up, as a university student, I just couldn't afford the cost of it all.

Jethro,
Did you get to see them this year? I've seen DT twice now. As much as they've kind of veered off where they were heading with the earlier albums, I have thoroughly enjoyed Black Clouds and Silver Linings. The Count of Tuscany does it for me.
I also love the title of the compilation album they've just released -- Dream Theater - Greatest Hit and 21 Other Cool Songs. lol.

When I went to New Zealand a couple of weeks back, I just grabbed a whole bunch of CDs and chucked them in my backpack for listening whilst driving. A random gem that I pulled out and popped in was Yanni's Live at the Acropolis from 1993. Wow, that took me back. I have a penchant for listening to music which makes the soul soar.
Have a listen to Yanni - Renegade -- for the impatient, forward to 5:07 into it which is just prior to Karen Briggs and Pedro Eustache just letting rip. It's pure awesome. This one isn't from the Acropolis, it's from the Taj Mahal.

No I didnt! Funny, The Count.. was just finishing as I read your post.
Great album though, have really been loving this one.
I have been late in finding DT, having always been an old school metal man, but got an intro when I won the Systematic Chaos cd at Uni

Oh, man. It took me a good 2 years to get into Dream Theater. I found it a little easier to get into Symphony-X. If you haven't tried Symphony-X, you must. American progressive metal rules. I've been giving Shadow Gallery - Room V a lot of airplay in recent times, as well as Between the Buried and Me - Colours. Colours is incredible.

The couple of weeks I've been going back through my Angels collection, last night I went to one of two perfomances in the Angels Face to Face Tassie tour.
The original Angels lineup, all were as tight and polished, better than I remembered, they are still the best live band I have ever heard.
Doc Neeson put in a fantastic performance despite his disabilities, the whole performance was outstanding.
Apparently they're touring Qld in August, if you're an Angels fan, whatever you do, don't miss it.
