Oh boy... ever since the video for 'Human Behaviour' I have had a seriously massive crush for Björk.
I have a few Björk albums(Debut, Post, Homogenic) but I must get around to hearing the newer three.

I guess I listen to Post more than the others as it has so many great tracks: Army of me, Hyperballad(awesome with a subwoofer), It's oh so Quiet, Isobel(awesome), Possibly Maybe, I Miss You.

Homogenic gets a workout too, particularly 'Hunter'(the change at 1:40.. awesome) 'Joga' and ofcourse 'Bachelorette' which is an amazing track.
Overall though the album just kinda lacks sparkle.

I realy like the way she blends electronic beats with traditional instruments and a strong orchestral sound.
I saw a documentary about her years ago, where she said she always carries a little pocket synthesiser with her and whenever she gets an idea, doesn't matter where, she quickly records it on the synth.

Ahh, Björk…

I've got all her albums of course

Her latest pieces are quite interesting, "Fletta" (in collaboration with Antony Hegarty on his album "Swanlights"), and "The Comet Song" from the animated movie "Moomins and the Comet Chase". Both excellent pieces of minimalistic art.

Cheers
Steffen.

Can you imagine the music Frank and Bjork would have made together.
Mind boggling.

Hi All,

At present, the 2010 re-mix of Mike Oldfield's 1974 classic Hergest Ridge. This is the 5th version I have of this album and it is probably now my second favourite mix.

I have the original (stereo) issue on vinyl, the vinyl quadraphonic version (for those of us with four ears) and then the vinyl "Boxed" remixed version from 1977 that is somewhat different from the 1974 original -- and a CD of the Boxed version.

The new 2010 version is a remix of the original version but now much, much better. In the original it sounded like the trumpet was being played in a toilet cubicle and the bass sounded like it was somewhere in the next suburb. The hammond organ now sounds like a hammond. It is superb -- exceppt perhaps for the mandolin in the opening section that's a bit trippy.

Have had it for two weeks and have probably listened to it twenty odd times. The big one comes out next month: the remix of Incantations (1978) -- I already have it on order!

Best,

Les D
