[SOLD] Meade 14" f/10 LX200R Advanced Ritchey-Chretien OTA with UHTC

Meade LX200R (now called the LX200-ACF UHTC optics) 14” f/10 OTA with UHT coatings - $4500 + shipping (approx. $300 nation wide)
This scope was purchased in Nov 15 2006 and is in as new condition except for one problem – the mirror lock never functioned correctly from the beginning. I have never been game to remove the corrector and mirror to see what’s wrong but don’t believe its anything serious. However, I have got around it by using a spring loaded mirror stabilizing bolt which works fine in locking down the mirror.
The scope has always been permanently mounted inside an observatory.

The Meade f/6.3 focal reducer is a very useful accessory that works well with this scope.

hey no interested in purchase but just curious whats beast like that come in at weight wise?

The OTA is 115lbs which equates to 52kg.

I took the weight off some literature I had but realized later that it also refers to the fork arms along with the OTA.
The Optcorp website states that the OTA is 75 Lbs which is 34kg.

i have a son who has had a passing interest in astronomy for 5 or 6 six years now .i bought him a cheap dob ,it was a beast and difficult to use.
What of the picture is actually for sale ,is it a fully independantly operating scope with necessary mounts or is it just part of a much larger system.sorry but I just dont have the knowledge to detect from your add. Please do not interpretate this ignorance as any sort of lack of interest.
