I posted a couple of these on a different thread, but thought I would share them here after doing some gentle reprocessing in CS6 on my Surface Pro (The stylus is great for painting quick masks accurately!).
I went down to the open day at the ATCA and spent a few days travelling around some splendid bush locations (Goondiwindi, Narrabri, Glendon Qld) with stunning sky. These shots were all taken with a 650D and Sigma 8-15 lens. The first two are single images, both around 35 second exposure, I believe the first is at iso 1600, the second 3200. The star trails was taken with 90 mins of 2 min exposures. I was planning it to be much longer but kicked the tripod in the dark!!!
Thanks all, and yes, I should take Raw to take control of the noise Greg (I hadn't!)
I've certainly discovered on the is trip that seriously dark sky makes the whole thing a lot easier, although at Glendons there was nothing to give the shot some earth boung interest other than trees.
