The centre of the Milky Way rising
I took this one last night. Wow a clear night, no smoke, no cloud, no moon.
I must be dreaming.
Anyway.
19 x 30 seconds ISO6400 F2.8 Zeiss Loxia 21 (wow, what a lens) tracked sky and 9 x 30 seconds untracked landscape.
I used the relatively new intervalometer in the camera which is handy.
I may do this again tonight and tell it to do 50 x 30seconds.
Sony A7riii.
Fornax Lighttrack ii.
Dark site.

Thanks very much for the words of praise Jon.
I have a few more I took last trip to my dark site to process.
I also got some software that hopefully can make the blend of tracked sky and untracked landscape easier.
I also am about to send off my Canon EOS R to get an astro mod. That should be fun.
Greg.

Beautiful Greg, hopefully you can share your experiences with the new software. I'm looking forward to seeing some astro-modified EOS R images soon!

Thanks Bob. That star trailing is just an artefact of the non tracked landscape with a few horizon stars and the tracked sky. Not perfect at that yet.

Yes that Zeiss lens whilst being a bit "slow" at F2.8 is almost perfect optically with no distortions and stars round in the corners of the view which is unusual.

That's lovely Greg.
Wonderful to see Rho Ophi in such a wide field.
Very nice stars with that Zeiss lens of yours!

Thanks Jeff.
The Zeiss Loxia 21 2.8 is a dream lens. Small, light, well made and awesome optics and colour with very little to no coma wide open.
I hope to do some more nightscapes after the moon is gone.

Cheers Leon. I do enjoy doing some nightscapes, it gets you out into the environment.
