The 300mm Mirror-Unigraph works

Hello Solarobserver,

The 300mm Unigraph mirror was completed yesterday after 9 months of adaptation. By using better secondary optics and adjustment, the images are now stable and show a dense chromosphere. The homepage has been updated with the new section Sun 2024. Unfortunately the atmospheric conditions have been really bad so far, it can only get better. Nevertheless, there are already some nice pictures. These give an idea of what images are possible with a calm and transparent atmosphere. I'm looking forward to that.

The focal ratio for the Etalone at 300mm aperture of the mirror is around 1:70, but the images are captured at around 1:40 thanks to an Antares reducer.
