My first ever - Crab Nebula

It's one of those things, in the 30+ years of astrophotography, until now this object has escaped me. I just never got around to it! And now that I have, I'm a bit underwhelmed lol. It's a little grey cloud. Cute little cloud though. Looks like one for the long focal length scopes.

56 x 30 seconds, 8" F4 Bintel Newtonian, Baader MPCC MKIII, Pentax K-5 at ISO3200 HEQ5 Pro unguided.

Pretty good first try Kevin; the crab needs more f.l. as you said, but mainly lots of time. In my experience the crab is one of the most difficult objects to image with results that look anything like the popular magazine or astro book pics.[ using film,
digital might be a different story.]

nice one kev, the Crab goes too low from here and hits the trees. But it is something on my list as well.
that's a good question on the structure ...
