Grus quartet

14 x 60 sec at 3200 followed by 10 x 60 sec at 6400.
ED80 with full spectrum modded 1100D

Good detail, but you would have probably ended up with less noise if you had stuck to 3200. If you don't already have Neatimage, download it [free], and follow the instructions carefully, and you should be able to reduce the noise considerably.

Start with lowish settings in Neatimage. If you have the settings too high
the image will end up with a plasticy appearance. The instructions are pretty good. There are advanced adjustments you can make when you become familiar with the software. Only the demo version is free, so if
I remember rightly, you are limited to outputting only certain file types.
