Just running through the subs again Al, April was a good month for me here, with a few subs coming in under 2" and most of the rest coming in at low 2's. So,6 hrs good Lum and 4 hrs of bad colour and 10 hrs of bad Ha....most around the 3"and 4" mark.
A couple of other projects going too with seeing not so great Al,but hey It is what It is
Has been interesting watching the difference seeing makes on a sub at 2000mm.....imagine what imaging at 4000mm

Hi Louie,
I image at 1000mm & that's even too much for Melbourne's average seeing.
Is there a "seeing" chart for Australia?
Coonabarabran & Siding Springs are the best as far as I know
but I have a feeling that some places in the desert could be good.
Also we have many mountains around 5,000 feet in altitude although
I've found on one of them - Mt Baw Baw that
wind was a real problem.
You really need a dome to act as a wind break.
It can be still on a mountain one minute & then 30 minutes
later you can get 80km per hour gusts.
No guiding system will follow that except maybe adaptive optics.
I was thinking of trying Lara - a place about 20km out of Geelong
but it would be a waste of time if the seeing was bad.
I've seen Sydney & Melbourne from aeroplanes high up at night &
it looks like a giant light mushroom over the top of them.
To think that you can get any picture at all through that is amazing.
cheers
Allan
