Moding camera

Hi
Currently using canon 350 un modded. Thinking of buying 450 or 1000d camera and removing IR filter. What external filter is needed to be able to use the camera for normal imaging as well? and would the add on external filter effect focusing.
Also are the external fiters expensive?

Regards
Carl

Your best bet would be to have a look at the Hap Griffin website, it may explain the types of mods and the pro's & con's.

The Astronomik clip in filters are the way most people are going and they can be rather expensive depending on what you want to achieve. Checkout the Astronomik website 'Clip-filter system
