Too far on Eta Carinae?

Restacked some older data (with 3372 NOT centred, and another with it centred). Core area was blown out even straight out of DSS, so I layered another copy on top.

This is a whole bunch of up-scaling, masking, layering, high pass, custom etc.

Amazing what it brought out, but did it go just too far? Odd crop, but this is combining 2 data sets, one I had to rescale.

My eyes are cross-eyed after looking at it and fiddling with the image for too long Probably all carp!

It's alright Lewis, but to me it looks like two distinct images, one dropped on top of the other. Perhaps if the top one were just toned down a bit and maybe colour shifted a little more red to blend in with the background...?

Looks like there's maybe a yellowish gradient to the right too?

Still much better than I can do!

Astrobin will let you upload the full resolution image (in fact they encourage you to do so), however it looks like you resized it before you uploaded so its a little hard to tell exactly whats going on. Can you re-upload a full resolution image?
