Beginner's Spotting List - Binos?

Does anyone know of a spotting list or care to share some beginning targets for a binocular user?

I'd appreciate some idea and it looks like it may just be a clear night tonight

Hi Mick,
I did an article recently listing both telescope & binocular targets of some nice, bright, easy to get, showstopper objects in our sky at the moment.
Highlights of the Winter Sky.

Beginner's Spotting List - Binos?

Good list Suzy,

It's funny, where I live in the moment, is brilliant for the night sky. But in the park right behind our back yard is a light, shining right where I want to sit!

In a couple of months we move down to Tassie and our new place will be hopefully just as good if not better - 450m high with only two neighbours within 1km and surrounded by crown land.

Kinda spoilt really. But Im holding back abit untill we get to Tassie before I start ticking off any spotting lists. Maybe this will give me a push...just gotta find time to finish reading Bob Bee's 'Heavens Above'.

Actually to be honest I have just started slow...in Bob's book Im up to where he describes the planets and sorta stopped around Venus. Waiting till later in the month to get a look at that little Planet of Love/Hell. Was still too low on the horizon this morning but Jupiter was great and I reckon I saw 3 flashes of a satelite! Very cool!

Thanks Suzy- that's perfect!

I'm hoping the replacement binos arrive this week and hopefully these clear skies will continue.
