Is there nough room in the cabins for everyone ? I estimate around 9 people.
I have one possibly two mates coming. Chris from Bateau Bay with 12 inch scope . And Maybe Steve as well.
Is an alternative a close camping area for all or just a cabin for all ?

cottage is a FLAT $30 per night, with 5 beds but no mattresses).

There are three campgrounds, but there seems to be plenty of open space around the cottage.

Looks like rain EVERYWHERE on Tuesday.

Compare the weather for

1 Bretti
2 Chaffey
3 Coolah Tops
4 Mudgee
5 Coonabarabran
6 The Pony Club
7 Lostock

Wednesday morning is my suggested starting date too.
Just don't know where to go is best?

Coolah Tops is probably a no go.
Road was badly cut up in rain last week.
Probably not able to get a motorhome up there (steep).

Spoke to ranger, she said the cabin is available from Weds to Sat ($35/night).
Camping is allowed around the cottage as long as you book the cottage.

But as it is about 10k dirt road, if it rains again it could be unusable for 2WD vehicles.

I might just go to Bretti and suffer whatever weather it dishes out. It sounds too difficult elsewhere.
What does everyone else think ?

I am starting to think this way also.
At this point, it is Bretti or Chaffey.
But I am happy to go with the majority.

My vote is Bretti. Easy access even if it rains. Bring the gummies and let's hope for the best.

Three Geoff's together again. ( 3 Amigos or 3 Stooges ? )
I am looking forward to a break from work no matter what the weather throws at us.
Good company, an Ale or two and camp cooking will do me just nicely.
