Inspired by Andy's wider field shot of this region recently, I took a closer look at IC 1284 (red/pink emission), NGCs 6589 & 6590 (both blue reflection).
This is a 13.5 hour LHaRGB image.
Taken over 4 nights of good to average seeing for Lum & Ha and fair to poor for RGB, I managed to make a decent show of illustrating the subtle detail and colour interplay present in this dusty region of Sagittarius. I think it's very pretty, even if I do say so myself!
These nebulae lie about 5900 light years away. Note that there's barely any background sky visible behind the dust & gas in this image.
