is anyone aware of a way of autoguiding on a Macbook Pro using a QHY5L 2?
Can't find anything that supports it on OSX - I currently have it set up in a virtual machine, but would like to eliminate that extra level of complexity if possible.
You could buy The Sky X, I think it will guide with that camera, plus do everything else, and it runs on OSX.
What software are you using for aquisition with your SBIG?, CCDSoft?
If you're running all your astro software in a Windows VM perhaps it would just be easier to have a bootcamp dual boot with a nice clean Win 8.1 (or 7 if you must) that you boot into just while you're imaging...?
Use Parallels and run Windows in a virtual machine
That way you have the best of both worlds
There is a distinct advantage to running Windows since ASCOM only works on the Windows platform and its the "glue" that allows all your different applications to work together as one system.
Thanks for the suggestions guys. Have decided that i will continue using VMWare and a windows virtual machine for the time being. Can't find any software that supports the QHY5l 11 natively. It may happen if someone adds it to the Indi library, but that doesn't yet support my portable mount either.
