Ah, good'ol politically incorrect Kingswood Country, ground breaking TV

Thanks guys, I got some surprisingly ok results out of the crap night in the end (magic of processing) ...but it looks like it will be a much better night here tonight so I might try again, at least for the detail grabbing Lum (work tomorrow). When the conditions are good this AG12 OTA is a killer

Wind is a killer where I live, dosen't help that it is one of the windiest places on the planet!

Cant bulid a obs as the light pollution is bad and I rent so I habe been thinking about construction a portable frame and shadecloth contraption to combat the evil wind. Anyone else done something similar?

Surely you could make some windbreaks Mike? Even some 4X2 posts with some corrugated iron between the posts.

Or, you could stand near your setup. You seem like a natural windbreak Like me - brick ****-house

Oh you are absolutely right Lewis, I have been putting off erecting wind breaks (already have a lot to set up and pull down each session anyway) because I have a 2.3m Sirius Dome kit sitting in my shed waiting to be erected, I needed approval form the land lord which I have received now and then I have been waiting for the cash to build the pier, footing and slab.

Attached is what it should look like - that's my backyard with the dome superimposed in order to show the land lords what I was planning.

This should be my wind remedy

I mean, you can't be serious....

Late this afternoon, it's beautiful and clear, weather reports good for clear all night too and (touch wood) there is hardly a breath of wind, great!!! I will redo my Lum from Sunday night yipee!..

Setup the scope ready to image...aaaand they start strong NW gusting breezes ...ruining even a 30sec sub, I mean fair-dink-um!!! been waiting for them to die down but 10:15pm now and I can (still) hear the wind outside....

I think I'll go eat worms...and work on my dome plans

Mike

what about parking the car near the mount to reduce the wind - even put the tailgate up near the mount?
