This is the globular cluster in Musca that lies near the end of the dark nebula popularly known as the "dark doodad". It's very open structured (concentration class 12) and somewhat reddened due to obscuring material in the vicinity.

That's a very pretty image Steve. it's a nice spread of blue and yellow stars.

Very fine, Steve. You've captured the special character of the beast. Pleasing composition and colour too. Interesting how the more orange stars (red giants?) seem bigger and brighter than the blue ones.

Thanks Mike. Possibly the orange stars are more prominent because of the interstellar absorption in the region which would tend to diminish the blue.

That's a great image that jumps out of the page. Great colour and the bright star makes for a great highlight.

Thanks Greg. Most shots of this globular are wide-field showing all or part of the dark doodad. Of course I don't have the field for that.
