SpaceX Deploys 60 Mini Starlink Sats

While I admire SpaceX, for their achievements in reusable launch vehicles, the creation of a network of 11,000 of these mini internet satellites just seems entirely unnecessary and further pollutes space above earth with more junk.
Story here:

BTW, who is actually behind this, is it really SpaceX initiative?

I am reminded of Mr Universe's advice to Mal in the movie Serenity, "you can't can't stop the signal"! Do we really want broadwave capability everywhere?

It seems this was quite a Secretive affair where we only find out after the fact.
I hope every one of these satellites has a deorbit plan for their end of life !
I have had some involvement in efforts to track low earth orbit debris and I know just how big an issue this us
