Colours of Comets.

Colours of Comets.

Over the past 6 years I have been fortunate to image some great comets, so here are some of them.
C/2016 R2 PanSTARRS has been really something special with it's remarkable blue tail. This prompted me to put this together.

Hope you enjoy it.

Cheers,

Justin.

Nice one Justin, who doesn't love a comet. A comet was my introduction to astronomyas an 8 y/o. (Comet Ikeya–Seki: C/1965 S1)

Thank you Justin

I hunted the blue tailed comet nearly as assiduously as Burl Ives' blue tail fly also to no avail. not to wurrie, when it comes back i'll have a bigger 'scope.

Thanks Rick, Rick and Lindon!

For some reason I can't get multiple replies working.
Thought it worth posting.

Cheers,

Justin.

You can easily recognise the emission lines, carbon bands etc. in the low resolution Star Analyser. Not an ideal target; the grating is really designed for Star like images, but good results never the less.

Thanks Ken! Rob Kaufman has supplied me with 5 specta, I'll need to contact professionals for C/2016 R2 PanSTARRS.

Some great images there Justin! Well done.

Are these all done with the same colour adjustments?

Keep up the good work!
