Carina Nebula outskirts

Wanted to share this image taken last Sunday night.

I'm pretty happy with it, especially given that night was intended to simply test out the new focuser (Baader Diamond Steeltrack) Id been waiting for a very long time for. It helped with star shapes a fair bit, but the stars still aren't perfect by any stretch in the raw data. BlurXTerminator has cleaned them up nicely, what a game changer that tool is, thankyou Russell Croman. Of course I'd like to get perfect stars at capture too, and that's the aim, but it's good to know that your hard earnt data doesn't have to go in the bin anymore.

5.5hrs from Bortle 6 Melbourne using a Skywatcher Quattro 10, Antlia 3nm HOS & RGB for stars, EQ6R pro, OAG, Starizona Nexus 0.75x (f3 baby), asi2600mm.

Great result from Melbourne's Light Polluted skies! Whenever I see this region of the Carina Nebula it reminds me of the Witch Head nebula in Orion and you've really emphasised it with this field of view.

Very cool close-up Andrew.
For a moment I thought it was the Witch's Head when I first saw the thumbnail.
