A bit off topic, but whenever I hear talk about the Merlin it reminds me of
the chap who owned an Engineering company across the road from my primary school. He put a Merlin into his Rolls, plus rear truck axles and
diffs. If I remember rightly it was direct drive because he couldn't find
a transmission that could handle the power. He was clocked well over 300kph on the autobahns and autostradas in Europe.

They recently put a Mosquito back in the air over here. Lots of rebuild though, wood doesn't last too well. I think it's going to a buyer in the UK. Mate of mine did some video of it's inaugural flight out at Ardmore Airfeild. Fast and Noisy !!
