hi Michael and welcome from me as well. , what are your interests, visual observing of the moon and planets , deep sky , Astro photography , telescope making , all the above , it's an awesome hobby that has plenty to offer .

As said , do you have any gear ? If not I suggest a pair of 7 or 10x50 binoculars and a download of Stellarium ,, it's free .and very educational.
