Carina Crop Reprocess Keyhole and Eta

Following some suggestions here’s an alternative crop of my Carina image showing the Keyhole and Eta region
Using Startools V1.6 to process but this time performing a heavy crop before the main auto stretch and then processing the image as normal after that
Seems like you don’t lose to much dynamic range and resolution across the image, if fact you don’t lose control of any functionality and performance in any of the processing modules , which goes to show Startools is a tremendous processing software by retaining all the linear data and detail in tact regardless of chopping the image in half or quarters

Synthetic Luminance version
LRGB version

Thanks

Ah, this is good!! I just opened both crops and this one, for me, has better contrast and shows more structure (or at least better defines the same structure)... how nice is mystic mountain there now!?

I'm sure it wasn't just for me, but thanks very much just the same

Thanks
I’m open to any suggestions , so performed a pre heavy crop rather than a post heavy crop to see the difference, as you won’t know until you try something
I agree, the Pre heavy crop does look better

AMazing how cropped you can get and maintain such detail! I just ran another Startools process of this nebula - never thought to run through on a tighter crop. Something for next time.
