Lunar eclipse
Hi All
Looking forward to the total lunar eclipse on 31-Jan. Does anyone have any plans/meet-ups for the event?
Info about timings across Oz on this page - http://www.lunareclipse2018.org/ecli...tralia-oceana/

See the long established eclipse thread. http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/s...d.php?t=164057
In short, unlikely as its visible anywhere from 50% of the planet, clouds permitting.
Besides, it appears you're 11,000 miles away, give or take a few.

Hopefully this cooler change we are expecting drags its heels and arrives after about 2 tomorrow morning. Supposed to be mostly clear here until between 9 and midnight when they expect it to pass through.

It's clear for me.
Clear, that I won't get to see it.

Yeah, me too. Snacks and wine to watch the eclipse online from the comfort of my bed.

I’ll be observing the eclipse from my basement - the seeing should be excellent !
- with a phone playing the NASA clip, scope 50m away at the other end, focussed on the phone.

Have you tried this one?
Seems legit and it's endorsed by the big man upstairs.

Yeah, actually Marc I think I've seen it posted here before, LOL.
If only it'd work huh?
As a sidenote, I'm planning on putting up my drone to try and get above the clouds.
Next best thing I reckon, since I won't get a viewing from ground level.

Success!!
The clouds broke up enough to shoot through the gaps.
Captured 125GB data.
It was a truly magnificent sight (sorry bout that).
Now the hard part...
Will post a result soon
