Mirror Supply

Greeting all.

I want to build my own telescope but don't have the time to make my own mirror so I am looking for somewhere to buy one. So far I have found www.handsonoptics.com and www.gs-telescope.com. My question for the guru's is how do I know a good mirror from a bad one and are there any other suppliers?

I plan to make a 6" or 8" scope as I want it to be easily portable

I'm pretty sure that Mark doesn't make mirrors this small... which may limit you to a Chinese mirror from one of the usual outlets.

I think Bintel or Andrews sell the Guan Sheng mirrors on their own.

Try Discovery Telescopes/Optics in the USA, I have purchased one of theirs.

Do a search under mirrors. There are a couple of 12" mirrors going at the moment, but they are pricey, and a bit bigger than you planned on
