mirror cooling fan 4 dob 8''?

hello,just got my 1st telescope last week and i was thinking to buy a mirror cooling fan for my dob 8'' skywatcher collopsible.does anybody think its a good idea?

Yes, it can only help. Not critical, I'm told, for these smaller thinner mirrors, but is it worth the risk of a mirror being too warm when you are ready to observe?

I presume it has the mount and room for a fan. You'll get the right size 12V fan from computer parts suppliers for maybe $20. A bit of cable, suitable plug and socket, a few batteries in a holder and you are away!

Visit Tandy or Dick Smith , you can get 12v Dc fan in a range of sizes that only need 4 screws to install (two wire versions).

Some are as cheap as $10 last time I looked.

Really worthwhile upgrade, especially in the winter when the ambient temperature can drop quickly.

thankyou all for helping out. il go to a tandy and dick smith store and check it out, because i do have a space underneath to fit a fan.
