Halos are bad enough, but off-centre????

I would think that if I have a filter halo, it should be centred- but… as you can see here, it is not.
The ha image was taken with a WO 72mm refractor- does this mean the camera is tilted?
Image chain is:

Refractor doublet
Flattener
Spacers
OAG
Filter wheel
Asi2600mm

Any thoughts?

Hi Mark, let me start by saying I’m by no means experienced with refractor aberrations. If you look at the star shape, especially in the bottom left of frame, it appears to suggest an optical alignment issue. I’d suggest this is likely a tell tale sign of why your reflection halos are off center. If you fix the optical alignment, I’d expect that will centralize the halo too.

Cheers
Ryan

At last - a good use for filter halos - use them to confirm orthogonal optics!
