My wife and I are splurging for Christmas this year and I've bought myself an ASI183mm Pro and so now my QHY178m is excess to my needs.
The camera is in very good condition, has zero issues and will be shipped in its original packaging. It comes with all the included accessories, except the cigarette lighter adapter which
I've misplaced, and a bonus Cyclops Optics Blade-N Nikon Adapter which I've never used.
Please refer to
my Astrobin gallery for images taken with this camera; everything since March 2018--which includes my best images by far--was taken with this camera.
The QHY178m does have some banding and amp glow, but that's typical for this sensor. The amp glow usually calibrates out fine but on occasion I have had some minor residual glow. I think that happens when the ambient temperature is stupid hot. I've still produced good images with the camera on the odd occasion that's happened.
As for the banding, it hasn't stopped me from getting 4 "top picks" and 5 "image of the day" awards on Astrobin with this camera. Due to the banding I do think these cameras do better with broadband than narrowband, but you can definitely still produce some good NB results (see my Ha M8 data on Astrobin). You'll also do better if you don't oversample like a crazy person (I'm shooting at 0.5"/px so I get relatively little signal per pixel which makes it harder to swamp this stuff)
I can only find one retailer in Australia stocking these at the moment and that's Optics Central who're asking $1349.10. You could get it from overseas via Cyclops Optics for about $1000 plus duty/GST -- that's where I originally bought it.
I'm asking a very reasonable $600 plus postage.
