Now Boeing 787 potentially grounded

FAA now looking into sub-standard and rushed 787 production. Defects and shocking QC endemic in the South Carolina factory.

Additionally, 400+ 737MAX pilots have filed a class action against Boeing.

Boeing is not going to come out of this 737/787 debacle rosy.

Meanwhile, at the Paris Airshow, Airbus sales SOARED to Boeing's VERY mediocre signing of intentions/sales and leases.

That's the problem with modern management. People are under pressure to come up with ways of cutting costs, in order to get bonuses when they do so.

Early on with the B787 there were a number of forced landings due system battery fires. Boeing's fix was to put the offending lithium cells into a "fire-resistant" box!

And the FAA thought it was an acceptable solution

I also recall an exec with my previous employer once stated during a flight deck visit, that despite various safety issues being discussed, the Company could survive a "hull loss". It was put bluntly to this prat by the PIC "so..will you and your family be on that flight?? "

Why is it, when you describe this "prat", I think of Carter Burke from Aliens? Credit to the PIC for keeping his wits.
