Good one Greg. The starless one has a real 3D look about it.

Yes Starnet++ is an interesting program. It suits some scenes better than others.

Cheers Mike. I saw those 2 objects close by on someone else's image a while ago and I was surprised those 2 objects were close by each other.
Greg.

Hi Greg,
That's a lovely field, great colours and some interesting dark nebs there that I havn't seen before.
I might target one of those
Not too sure about the starless technique used though - the starless rendition looks really soft & blurry.
I'm not seeing that result when I use Starnet with terminal.
It looks painterly & pretty but maybe it could be sharper?

Lots of things that are new for us in that image, including the dust lane to far right that looks like a Greek Xi. Well done.

Not the fun of star-less, but the original (with millions of star) is (as usual from you) first class!!!

Thanks Andy. Yes it is quite soft plus I have to run some noise reduction as it leaves little black dots everywhere there were stars.
When you say run it with terminal - what does terminal mean there?

Thanks Graham. This area has a lot more general nebula in it than I thought. The starless version might make some nice wall art.

Thanks M and T. There is a lot more Ha in this area than I thought.

I Understand. I don't mind the starless but not wanting to use it all the time either.
Greg.

There is plenty of interest going on there Greg with lots of colour and detail. I vote for the star studded version on this one.

Hi Greg,
I love the wide field of view, very nice!! Great colour. The star colours look good with the Ha added, I guess you removed the stars from the Ha before Ha blending?
Cheers,
Tim

Very nice Greg! Like you I didn’t originally know that they were quite so close together. Might be time for a mosaic and longer focal lengths

Thanks. I prefer the starred versions but the starless are interesting though.

Thanks Tim. Yes I did and then added the stars back in.

I was surprised at the field. Both of these nebula have been imaged many times. So it was nice to see them close together. I can see several super widefield Milky Way shots coming up this season. It starts in a few months.

I don't care for "starless" images at all but the un-star-filtered one looks great Greg! Beautiful rich colours and nice composition!

Thanks Marcus. Yes the starless is a bit of a gimmick.

Very nice Greg.
I'm finding the detail shown in the starless renditions (both in this and your Ara Dragons image) quite delicious (normal versions are great too of course).

Thanks Pete. They do show up the nebula in a very detailed way.
Greg.
