The Great Orion Nebula

I've been doing astrophotography for getting onto 3 years but this is my first image (real) of M42. I think it turned out pretty good. I learned a few things on this processing like how to add Ha nicely into RGB and how to do justice to the RGB stars. I did shoot RGB at 10s, 30, and 180s and Ha at 10s, 45s, and 420s. The combo turned out pretty good and I didn't have to tone done the bright trapezium area much at all.

That’s excellent Jim. I really like the control in the trapezium but still allowing its brightness to shine. Great colour and detail throughout. Great work!!

This is by far the best image I have seen from a long time. Really mastered it.

Great job Jim. This is a really delicate version of M42 and The Running Man. This one is easy to overcook, but you've managed to be gentle with it across the board. Lovely.
