First time I've struck this with DSS, I have 4 images of varying exposure times 45- 150 seconds all of the same object (guided) but DSS will only extract and stack one good frame
In the registration window, have you tried altering the percentage so that DSS uses more/less stars to align with? (sorry if you have done that already)
Thanks guys I dumped the images anyhow as generally they were too noisy. Re-tried some old data I had of lights all the same exposure and worked fine so I'm not sure what was causing the problem.
If the noise was your problem, there must be awful lot of it for DSS to confuse it with stars..
Can you post 100% scale detail of one of frames, so we can see ifthis was the problem?
Sorry as I said I dumped the image data I can only assume that DSS did confuse the noise with stars. I might drop the ISO to 400 on warmer nights and move away from doing darks and lights and use in camera noise reduction instead.
It may be something to do with the camera sensor and light pollution in my area as the images where extremely noisy.
