Thanks, guys!

As for the leg...

Long story, short: we bought a lemon camper trailer.

We drove to Melbourne a couple of weekends ago to see an engineer to write us a report in support of our case against the company we bought the camper off. One of things he needed to complete his report was the tare weight of the trailer.

So, we went to a public weighbridge yesterday morning to get that done. I let down the jockey wheel, unhitched the trailer, drove forward a foot off the bridge, so we got the weight of the camper. Then drove back to hitch it back up again. I was on the ground, squatting, and gently pushing the trailer from side to side, so the hole in the polyblock would align with the hole in the hitch so I could drop the pin in, when the jockey wheel suddenly gave way and the drawbar fell and pinned my left thigh. I had 1,620 kg fall on my leg (well, whatever the ball weight of that is, anyway).

I rolled over in absolute agony.

To give you an idea as to how heavy this thing is, it took 4 guys to lift it up and hitch it back up to the car again.

I'm so thankful that it was my thigh and not my knee or shin -- that would have been a different story altogether.

I went to emergency in an ambulance. They took X-rays and thankfully they came back clear. I have a contusion of the left anterior thigh -- my thigh is swollen and looks really wrong. I'm waiting for the bruising to start.

To give you an idea of the pain, each time my boxers or quilt caress the skin, it feels like hundreds of needles stabbing me.

I'll get through it, quickly, I hope!

H

Ouch, in a way a lucky outcome as it could have been far worse but horrible all the same.

Happy birthday and hoping you recover quickly.

Greg.
