Of late all my "scope" activities have been under review. Quite a bit of beautiful gear has been disposed of and hopefully improved upon, meeting/matching my own unique ocular limitations.
This process has brought me in contact with two Australian retailers, Andrews Communications and Bintel, both are excellent, both are highly competitive. I can be a "difficult" customer, not because I want to be difficult but unfortunately the way things work I often become a vexing customer I am an excellent "litmus" test for quality customer service.
This is my opportunity to offer a public thank you to the Scope Staff of Andrews. I won't single out anyone in particular but.... if you have ever asked a question of the staff (which I do) I am certain you will have spoken with the gentleman. The young man managing the Optics Dept of Andrew's deserves an immediate raise!
Though we live in a truly Global marketplace the attitude and whole hearted enthusiasm for Astronomy exhibited by both Bintel & Andrews guarantees their respective futures, even in the face of Global Leviathans like Amazon.
