Thanks for the Telemetry link Suzy, fascinating. They are just showing battery condition, amps delivered and temperature of the various modules although it looks like it is not being updated very often and temp is not being logged as far as I can see yet. Could get interesting once they get better comms going and it warms up some more. Another article I saw said they were quite optimistic about it returning to operation for a lot of the science missions.

That's amazing if the ESS and MSS are really well above zero, I wasn't expecting that already!
Surely that CIVA temp is not an actual current measurement...?

edit : I hear people are having issues with windows media player only playing back the audio and not the video. I tested on my sisters win8.1 machine and had the same issue. you could try installing other software that plays mp4 with the h.265 codec or putting it on a smartphone and use vso player.

the video plays fine on my xp machine with divx pro, on the TV though wd TV live media Centre and also on my phone using the stock video player. sorry if there's any inconvenience.

From what I could deduce Hugh that info was just from a short burst on the 14th when it first woke up. No further updates since. The previous data was from back in November 2014 ! Hasn't moved since I've been watching it.
Hopefully more to come ... my fingers are still crossed

From what I understood the latest of the short 10 second contacts did contain data about the current state. Not sure where I read that, I'll see if I can find the link.
I guess that still doesn't mean that the telemetry page is using the new data though.

If you mouse over the charts in the Telemetry it gives you a lot of information in a 'bubble'. Going to have to keep an eye on that little gem.
Better on my home PC than at work. For some reason it's partially blocked on the interactive components for temperature.

Aha, but just checked. Works ok on my tablet on the works guest Wifi ... cool .. or in this case -5C LOL

Regarding the telemetry page this was posted on UMSF about 7 hours ago:

"The webmaster at http://isee3.p3s.nl/philae/ confirms that these are old data. Notice the other readings, which relate to pre-delivery status. S/he says: "....I've been meaning to update.....""

Further down the thread was this too:

"while it is correct that the webmaster of that site mentioned that he should probably update it he did also mention that it is showing the latest data on twitter. The only parameters that are currently updated correctly for Philae are PSSH_C_SBat_CH as well as PSSH_C_SBat_DCH which are solar panel current and rechargable battery current. Most data is from the 13th but there are also a few measurments from the 14th."

I've worked it out to be 5.30pm AEST this afternoon, Wed 17th.

(9.30 CEST). On the top right hand corner of the live stream box is a countdown timer for when it's about to start.

Had the same issue, plays fine in VLC though.

Just watching an ESA briefing where they say no further contact has been made after the initial "wake up".
8 instruments have "done science"
And they expect that August will be the best month for more contact with Philae as that will be when it is best placed for receiving more energy.

Great news! Rosetta and Philae are in contact again.

This is the first contact from Philae since 14th June.


The two contacts received by Rosetta lasted two minutes each. Both delivered numerous packets of lander housekeeping and status data, 185 in total, which are still being analysed at the time of this writing. No science data were anticipated or received.


New commands have been uploaded to Rosetta to further adjust its trajectory and distance from the comet to improve the radio visibility between the two spacecraft, with the first sets of thruster burns having taken place this past Wednesday and the next set planned for Saturday morning. The goal is to bring Rosetta to about 177 km from the comet nucleus and keep it in a range of latitudes that maximise opportunities for lander communication.
