Pretty ordinary seeing. It's not good here for a couple of hours after sunset as the obs is surrounded with a sandy backyard that likes to radiate mobs of heat adding to anything going on up stairs. I'll keep imaging it while I can though

The white area in the north is a cloud and/or frost over the Hellas basin. It's present in every image I've ever seen of that region, although its character changes over time. As some sage said, the only dumb questions are the ones you don't ask.

It occurred to me this morning that the Hellas basin might completely clear of cloud and frost when it's Summer in the southern hemisphere of Mars. I checked some Hubble images, and found that this is indeed the case. So we both get to learn something by you asking your question, and perhaps other who read this will too, so thanks for asking!
