Pencil

The longest time I have spent on a project yet with the new setup, pencil nebula over 4 nights this week. I am setting up / tearing down each night which with a setup of my size is no small feat.

But I needed to take advantage of the clear nights. This new moon is looking like it might have a few clear nights, so I might try to get somewhere dark.

Processing this one was difficult, huge difference in brightness between the pencil and the background HA. Gone for a more natural look which I think I prefer.

Check it out here : https://www.astrobin.com/221qu8/

Cheers.

Gosh that's brilliant! Amazing depth but really well balanced between the foreground pencil and background Ha nebulosity. It's a very busy region but well framed and processed to bring a beautiful image. Well done!!

To get so many good nights in a week was a blessing. I made so many changes after the initial effort its hard to settle on something.

Fascinating Peter. A wonderful complex field and the faint overlaying nebula has been presented well

Great image!

I like the NB colour rendering, and the detail is superb.
