Tublug

I recently obtained a 1 1/4" Tublug and a Parallizer from Howie Glatter. I already have a Cheshire combination tool and GSO laser collimator. Previously I used the barlowed laser method to align the primary mirror, but this could be awkward using a mirror to check the reflection of the ring on the back of the collimator. Since I have scopes with both 1 1/4" and 2" draw tubes the above seemed a good idea. It was.

The Tublug enabled me to complete the primary mirror tilt in about a minute for each scope. I am right chuffed. The parallizer centres and 'aligns' the 1/4" tools nicely in the 2" focuser.

Really these are excellent bits of kit, work as claimed, and save me time.

Well done Colin,

My Howie Glatter was one of the best investments I've made. Thought my old laser was good enough, till I started using the HG, now I'm sold.
I have a open truss so don't need the tublug, although it would save some neck angling.

Clear skies

The tublug sure is worth every penny.
Colimate in the dark with no lights is no problem.
Last Friday night I gave my cheshire away to a newbie.
Best thing since sliced bread.

Cheers

It just make sthe whole process so easy, You can work accurately at the back of the scope by yourself however long your arms are and you know it will bring the centre 'spot on'. (sorry for the pun).

regards
