Our very own Mental4astro featured in Astronomy Magazine

Local telescope maker and keen amateur astronomer Mental4Astro has had a scope model from his small business, Gondwana Telescopes, chosen as one of the top products of the year by Astronomy Magazine. There are 35 products listed in the article and mental's scope comes in at No.13.
His Gondwana Telescopes was also featured in Astronomy Technology magazine a couple of years back.

Excellent! Well done!

I have recently had a chance to use that telescope and it is a totally different (to off the shelf telescope) experience. I was tracking objects at x300 and it was very easy.

Very well deserved to be selected!

Good luck!

Best Regards,
Serge.

Wow, that’s impressive! Are you talking tracking manually or auto?
(Although either is impressive at that magnification).

Thank you, all of you, for your kind words

Paul, the scope Serge and the article are referring to is a totally push-pull manual scope. The scopes I make are not goto instruments as having such mechanisms ends up making the stowed scope larger and heavier, which takes away from the goal of their design. What they do have is push-to capability.

My scopes and mounts are now across Oz and also NZ and the US

The problem with the article though is it was not sent to me to proof read, and there are some terrible errors, like the discount the article claims. This sort of thing can be devastating for a small business.

Thanks for the explanation buddy, totally understand now.

And wow, Oz, NZ and the US - you ARE doing well mate and I’m stoked for you. Wishing you the ultimate success in your business.

Offer longer F models

Hi Alex ,
Please offer some 8 to 10" F/7 scopes , so much easier performance then the shorter ratios .
Hows about F/6 for 12" , that would be a ripper !

Cheers& Beers
Bobby .
