Tarantula with new camera!

G'day!

Finally got to try out my new camera last night on the scope, it looks like it's a winner!

Due to the lovely rain we have had recently the black soil has wreaked my polar alignment, hence the short subs.

Sony A5100, 8" f5 newt, 77x 15 sec subs. (20 min)

Large version Here.

I have never imaged this region with a scope before, can't wait to do it again properly.

Thanks for looking

Cheers
Jo

Nice colours and good detail - well done Jo.

Maybe perhaps star reduction is a tad too strong as it seems to have distorted the nebulosity a bit.

Otherwise, you handled the gear and your data very well.

P.S. With your next attempt, see if you can move 'the spider' a bit (maybe a quarter of the image width) to the left to reveal more of what's hidden to the right of your photo
