Orion Illuminated Plossl 12.5mm

http://www.bintel.com.au/Eyepieces-a...oductview.aspx

Considering getting one of these to help improve alignment accuracy.

Does anyone have experience they would like to share?

Thanks

Aidan

It does what it's advertised to do and helps centre stars for alignment, so well worth the investment. I put mine into a 2x Powermate to up the magnification when I do my alignments.

People over time have suggested de focusing the star and using that image to centre it in the crosshairs. That may work in eyepieces with single illuminated reticles, but in the Orion double illuminated reticle a tight, focused star is much better for centering dead centre.
