Well after 2 months of nothing I finally had time to work on this thing again. Finished the remote control for the focuser today.

The 3D printed case worked first go which is quite frankly incredible given my half-arsed job at designing the case.

The remote allows slow and fast stepping in and out and also shows, current position, current temperature, the number of steps the computer is attempting to drive, and if the computer is connected via ASCOM.

Also did a bit of programming voodoo so that the focuser intelligently picks the correct temperature probe. It will use onboard temperature but if you plug in either an external temperature probe, or a DB9 connector with a temperature probe built in (which is what I'm using) it will automagically switch to that.

Now to work on the main case.

Don't recall the controller itself being a reason for Crown lager ingestion at Astrofest. There was a nice new feature too people were checking out - message display to the effect of "if you can read this you are too close to my scope"

Impressive bit of kit, but suspect its moved to Europe with Chris now.
